Prof. Dave Bussiere

TEACHING
Dr. Bussière teaches in the B.Comm., full time MBA and the MBA for Managers & Professionals programs. Recently taught courses include Internet Marketing, Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Management. His teaching philosophy is one that students learn what they are motivated to learn. For some students, this motivation is purely internal. For many others, this motivation needs to be enhanced and cultivated. Once students develop an understanding of course material (theory and application), they improve as business students, and mature as individuals.

RESEARCH
His research interests are in the field of consumer behaviour and marketing history. His consumer behaviour research stream is focused primarily on consumer data collection including consumer-to-consumer communication (consistent with his dissertation's focus on word-of-mouth) and on-line search activity. His research also includes an interest in consumer ethics and decision-making.

ON-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES
Dave is the faculty advisor for the Odette Debate Team. The team debates annually against the University of Notre Dame, the University of Florida and CalState University at Long Beach. The team funded by the Ambassador Bridge Corporation and Dieppe Insurance.
Dave is also the Chair of the Board of Advisor of AIESEC-Windsor, and international student organization that promotes student exchanges and learning.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Bussière has a Ph.D. from the Bristol Business School of the University of the West of England. He also holds an M.A. in Business Economics and a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
