 | The University of Windsor, Odette School of Business, and the Cross-Border Transportation Policy Centre at the University of Windsor invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Supply Chain Management with an emphasis on Transportation commencing July 1, 2010. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The University of Windsor has recently established a Cross-Border Transportation Policy Centre with a mission to study the movement of goods and people across the US-Canada border, especially at the Detroit and St Clair River crossings. Dr. William Anderson, Ontario Research Chair in Cross-Border Transportation Policy, leads this Centre. The successful applicant will work closely with the Research Chair on transportation issues in the border region and become an active member of the Centre.

The successful candidate will have doctoral qualifications appropriate to teaching and researching in a business school environment—this usually entails having a doctorate in business or economics. The position could allow them to teach in any one of a number of business discipline areas for which they are qualified and the School has courses and needs. The successful candidate will have expertise in the field of supply chain management with an emphasis on transportation.
The successful candidate will become an active member of the Cross-Border Transportation Policy Centre and conduct research on cross-border supply chains in the automotive and other sectors. Research topics may include strategies to mitigate delays and uncertainties at border crossings, the effect of border related costs on decisions regarding the sourcing of inputs, the effects of border crossing regulations on total supply chain costs and the benefit to shippers and carriers of new technologies and procedures adopted by border enforcement agencies. He or she will engage actively with firms and government agencies involved in cross-border transportation and thus will be able to show a history of these types of collaborations.
