 | The University of Windsor, Odette School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Accounting at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing as early as July 1, 2010 or later. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The University of Windsor is a medium-sized university with a solid reputation for quality teaching and research. The Odette School of Business offers four-year business programs leading to an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, including combined degrees with Economics, Computer Science and Languages and various Co-Op degree options, and a two-year program leading to an Honours Bachelor of Commerce for University Graduates. At the graduate level, the School offers a full-time and a weekend MBA as well as two specializations within a Masters of Management program. Candidates for the position, within the Accounting and Finance Area of the Odette School of Business, must have completed, or be near completion of, a doctorate in Accounting by the date of the appointment. Candidates must have the appropriate background to teach, at the undergraduate and graduate level, in at least two of the fields of: financial accounting and reporting; managerial accounting; auditing; and accounting information systems. Judgment regarding ‘potential’ to excel in teaching and research will dominate the decision process for a candidate appointed at the Assistant Professor rank. Evidence of ‘actual performance’ to the present, in teaching and research, will dominate the decision process for a candidate appointed at the rank of Associate Professor. Substantial relevant industry experience will also be taken into account.

- a letter of application, including a statement of citizenship/immigration status;
- a detailed and current curriculum vitae;
- a statement of teaching and research interests;
- teaching evaluations or other evidence of teaching effectiveness;
- sample course outlines;
- a sample of scholarly writing;
- graduate transcripts if a recent graduate,
- candidates applying for the rank of Assistant Professor must arrange for three current letters of reference forwarded by the referees directly to the Dean of the Odette School of Business, and
- candidates applying for the rank of Associate Professor must provide the names and contact information for three referees directly to the Dean of the Odette School of Business.
