Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university
Applicants must have good academic records as presented on an official undergraduate transcript
Two letters of reference (a certified English translation is required)

The Mechanical Engineering Program at the University of Windsor currently has 27 MASc graduate students and 15 PhD graduate students. Only a few new funded graduate student positions are available each calendar year. Potential applicants should review the faculty research areas, and ascertain whether any funded positions will be available in the upcoming term(s) in the student’s area of research interest. Although an applicant’s qualifications may be very good, the department rarely admits students unless there is financial support available.
Student Financial Support
Support for graduate studies can be obtained form a number of sources.
Students accepted to the programs normally receive financial support in the form of a research assistantship. The dollar amount of research assistantship varies with the qualifications of the students
Additionally, in recent years, every student enrolled in our program has received a teaching assistantship for one of the courses in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive, and Materials Engineering. Teaching Assistantships may be awarded for 2 of the 3 terms per year.
Most students in the graduate program are also receiving additional financial support from the University in the form of scholarships or visa tuition waivers.
Students are encouraged to apply for provincial, federal government, and private sector grants, fellowships, and scholarships for which they are eligible.
The deadlines for many sources of financial aid are during the fall terms of the 4th year of undergraduate study. Because University of Windsor undergraduates are on co-op work assignments during that term, it is imperative that students interested in graduate school check with the department office prior to leaving campus after their third year summer term.
