• Students should make arrangements with their preferred long distance supplier for long distance service
• Students can rent a personal safe through ABCSafeco, see www.uwindsor.ca/residence and then select Student Services

Clark Residence (premium single rooms) are allowed to bring:

• coffee table
• study chair
• bookshelf

Internet:

• wireless internet at no charge across campus and residence buildings
• additional cost to student for wireless Ethernet adapters (D-Link Wireless 108AG USB adapter)

What Should I Bring?

You will need: · Health card, medications, birth certificate, insurance, SIN · Telephone handset · Alarm clock · Snacks and water · Clothes hangers, storage containers for under the bed (See website for dimensions) · Pillows, linens (twin-sized sheets), blankets, etc.  Note:  Alumni Hall requires double sized sheets. · Laundry bag/basket, detergent · Housecoat, slippers, toiletries, towels, shower caddy · Computer/laptop with lock · Surge protected power bar, extension cord · School supplies · Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery · Pot and frying pan · Residence acceptance package, University documents

You might also want: · Pictures of family and friends · Message board · Camera and film · TV and/or VCR and/or DVD · Radio/stereo (with headphones) · Posters/wall hangings · Bike and lock · Inline skates

N.B. appliances (including microwaves and refrigerators) are not allowed in rooms in residence as they are the cause of blown fuses and pose a potential fire hazard.

N.B. Open flames/burning are prohibited within residence (including, but not limited to candles, potpourri, incense, etc.) as these items pose a serious fire hazard and can cause false fire alarms. Any exception to this must be authorized by your Residence Life Coordinator.

For Clark Residence (single and premium single rooms), you will also need: cooking utensils pots and pans broom and dust pan mop or swiffer toilet brush plates, cups, glasses and cutlery cleaning supplies toilet paper dish cloths and tea towels cookbooks all-purpose bathroom cleanser all-purpose kitchen cleanser A refrigerator, stove, couch, table, lamps, kitchen table, a set of chairs and a vacuum are also provided in Clark Residence. For Alumni Hall, you will also need: toilet paper toilet brush broom & dust pan mop plunger all-purpose bathroom cleanser all-purpose kitchen cleanser For Cartier Hall, you will also need: toilet paper toilet brush broom & dust pan mop plunger all-purpose bathroom cleanser

What NOT to Bring to Residence

· additional furniture, draperies or pets · beer bottles, kegs, large volume containers—not permitted in residence · candles, incense or halogen lamps · ashtrays—all residences are non-smoking · large appliances or electronics · firearms, weapons, simulated weapons · anything of an illegal nature
